What to Expect at Your First Visit

Your first appointment takes about 30-45 minutes. Here's a step-by-step look at the process.

Step 1

Schedule Your Visit

Call us at (727) 327-5141 or request an appointment online. We'll gather basic information about your pet and find a time that works for you.

Step 2

Check In & Meet the Team

Arrive a few minutes early so our friendly front desk team can get you checked in. We'll collect your pet's medical history and any records you've brought.

Step 3

Comprehensive Exam

Our veterinarian performs a thorough nose-to-tail physical exam — checking eyes, ears, teeth, heart, lungs, skin, joints, weight, and overall condition.

Step 4

Personalized Care Plan

We'll discuss our findings, answer your questions, and create a personalized plan covering vaccines, parasite prevention, nutrition, dental care, and any health concerns.

Step 5

Vaccines & Prevention

If needed, we'll administer vaccines and start parasite prevention. In Florida's climate, year-round heartworm and flea/tick prevention is essential.

What to Bring

Being prepared helps us make the most of your first visit.

  • Previous veterinary records or vaccination history
  • List of current medications, supplements, or flea/tick products
  • A fresh stool sample (if possible — we'll check for parasites)
  • Your pet in a secure carrier (cats) or on a leash (dogs)
  • Any questions or concerns about your pet's health or behavior
  • Information about your pet's diet and eating habits
  • Details about your pet's lifestyle (indoor/outdoor, other pets, travel)
  • Your preferred pharmacy if applicable

Don't have previous records? No problem — we'll start fresh and build a complete health history for your pet.
